Not So Much...
Remember about a week ago when I was on the radio..and lost the contest?
I had a little bit of deja-vu this week with try #2.
Here's the story. I called in Tuesday morning to try to win the contest that WFMS was holding. It was called the giggle game and it is actually a very simple game to win. They played a country singer's laugh and all you had to do was guess the laugh. Pretty easy. I listened Monday morning and immediately knew who the giggler was. I thought I should call in Tuesday and try to win the CD that was being given away.
So, I called in and yes, I was the first caller. This time, however, when the lady answered and asked for my name, I didn't stutter and forget my name. Go me!
Anyway, I was put on hold and a few minutes later the radio DJ played the giggler for me and I knew it was Faith Hill. He said, "So Kelsi, who is this famous giggler?" My response?
"Martina McBride."
I must get nervous when I am on the air.
I will try again next week. Third time's a charm right?

Wait, what?
Last night I went to the movie with Alex and we sat through an hour and a half of pure humor. I'm sure you have heard of the movie "Grown Ups" with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. Sooooo funny.
Well anyway, just before the showing, I decided to use the restroom so I didn't have to be annoying halfway during the show and step on people's toes and say "excuse me" seven times. I got to the bathroom and there was no line. To all guys out there, this IS a big deal at a movie theater. Us girls always have to wait in line.
So, I walked out and on my way back to the theater I saw something I have never seen before.
A line in the guy's restroom. What? I thought girls were supposed to travel in packs and create enormous lines in the bathroom. Hey, I'm not complaining though, I was the one who didn't have to wait. Girls win this one.
I walk to the theater, laugh my butt off for 90 minutes straight and Alex and I are on our way back to her house. I stayed the night and left her house around noon today. I was driving home and I was driving through a neighborhood and saw something pretty crazy.
A guy was pushing a little girl in a stroller. Not so crazy right? He was texting. No big shocker there. But because he WAS texting and not paying attention to the sidewalk, he kind of veered off and somehow got into the street. A oncoming car honked their horn and the guy swerved back onto the sidewalk saving that cute little girl enjoying her walk. And the not-so-responsible brother/dad/babysitter..whatever he was.
Now THAT is crazy. Thank you God for keeping both of them safe today.

Springhill
Took Lex to Springhill today. She will be gone for twelve days! I am so happy that she gets to go again this summer but I am already missin' her. It's gonna be a long two weeks.
On the way home, my dad and I found a '72 Volkswagen for sale in Seymour. We don't know how much it costs or anything, but I do know one thing..
..I want it.

Some family members are here in Fishers for a week from Colorado! I usually see them once a year and this time it's my great-aunt Pam, her daughter, Dana, and Dana's daughter.
We decided to go out to dinner last night with those girls from Colorado, my mom, my grandma, and myself. We had some good laughs and a lot of fun together! It was fun catching up with them and learning new things about each of them.
Today was a girl's day out which included Starbucks and pedicures! We went to Fisher's Nails and my mom, second cousin, and me all got the supreme treatment of pedicure heaven. As I was getting my toenails painted, the man who was Vietnamese asked me why there was a band-aid on my upper leg. I said, "Oh, I accidentally cut it.." hoping he wouldn't ask anymore questions or make another comment. Nope, he didn't stop there.
He proceeded to say, "Oh, so did the razor win?" Yeah, HE. He knew I was talking about shaving my legs when I said I had accidentally cut myself.
Hey, it could have been worse. At least I shaved my legs.

Backwards Songs
Have you ever tried to call in to your favorite radio station to win a contest? You know, be the #17 caller to win a free trip to Disney (but first you have to answer a random question about animals), or how about the first caller, (but you must first say a silly tongue twister). THOSE radio contests.
If you have tried to call in and be the first, second, third..etc. caller, you know how frustrating it is to call and hear that annoying three-dinged noise. You know, the one you hear when you dial the wrong number. But on the radio when this happens, you hear those three-dings and a familiar voice say, "I'm sorry, please try your call again later as there is too much phone traffic now." When you hear that though, you probably don't just give up there, do you? No. You hang up and quickly hit the redial button only to hear that familiar voice again deliver the "I'm sorry.." message.
Now, how many times have you actually gotten through and hear a voice say to you, "Hello! You are our first caller, what's your name?"
That is what I heard this morning on my way to work. (Only after I was asked what my name was, I froze up and responded about five seconds too late.) Way to go, Kels.
In order to win the contest that was going on, you had to be the first caller and listen to a randomly selected song and name the song. Sounds easy, right? Oh I guess i forgot to mention the part where the song is played BACKWARDS. So, I listened to the song and totally knew what it was. Brad Paisley - "Ticks." Absolutely.
The radio personality asked me, "Okay, Kelsi, what is the name of this song? So I responded confidently with my answer of "Ticks" and I knew I had it in the bag.
Until he responded with, "Oh no, I'm so sorry, Kelsi. Next caller?"
My happiness sure lasted long.

Barry Bonds..?
The 5-year old boy I babysit for said something super cute today.
I walked into the house at 8 a.m. like I do everyday. Dad was there like usual, and helped the 5-year old set up the PlayStation before he left for work. He turned it on and the 5-year old stars rambling about baseball. He says, "I love Barry Bonds! Hey dad, who is Barry Bonds?"
And he thinks he knows EVERYTHING about baseball. Psh.

Children's Museum!
My boys and I went to the Children's Museum today! I am very happy to report that I made it there safe and sound and I didn't get lost! That's a first!
We had a great time there seeing the new exhibit, "Rockstars, Cars, and Guitars!" It was filled with signed guitars from famous people, pop culture outfits, and really sweet cars that celebrities had driven. If you haven't been there, check it out! On a more depressing note, I don't get to go to the Barbie exhibit because my boys didn't want to. I kinda have to follow what they want to do, kids first!
It was such a fun and exciting day that the boys were completely pooped by the time we were in the car. Let's just say I enjoyed a nice and quiet ride home. :)

A Bathing Suit and Dark Clouds
So I had a couple of hours to kill earlier this afternoon once I got off of work. I thought it would be a good idea to tan outside since I was already in my bathing suit because of work. I updated my iPod really quickly, grabbed my phone, Dr. Pepper, and iPod and went outside to the back porch (I am still at Lauren's).
I layed out my towel and set up my phone and drink so they were easily accessible. I listened to a few songs as the sun shone down on me. Then all of a sudden, I felt cold. It was dark. The storm was a brewin'. Grrrrrrr-eat.
Very quickly, the storm was coming in and I had to grab my stuff and go! But, before I could, I felt the first raindrop. Then another, and another. Suddenly, I was soaking wet.
Where did this rain come from? Ugggggggh.
I mean, come on cloud, I am just tryin' to get some sun! Gimmie a break.
Pictures above are things around the porch that are wet from the raincloud.

Family, Friends, and Sparkler Fun
Welp this past holiday weekend was really fun and exciting! Here is a little glimpse of what happened on each day.
Saturday: Slept in and painted a picture of Robert Pattinson for Alex!
Sunday: Church and taco bell afterward! After lunch, went to Alex's house and had a day in the sun with blow up inflatable things in the backyard, so fun on a hot summer day! Later that night, went downtown for fireworks with some friends. We got home and did some fireworks of our own, good way to end a great 4th of July. Oh but wait, the festivities don't end there.
Monday: I had the day off! Went to the CarmelFest parade with my dad, Lexi, and Courtney. Collected just as much candy as the little kiddos sitting next to me with the help of my sister. Went to lunch at my aunt's house and afterwards walked over to CarmelFest and got dippin' dots and bought a new shirt that supports breast cancer. It's so cute. It says "Fight Like a Girl" with a pair of boxing gloves and the breast cancer ribbon. Love it! We went home after that and then went back over to Carmel to my grandma's house for some home cookin'. Had more family time over there with dinner and dessert then headed home. I then drove over to my friend Lauren's house where I have been staying the past two nights because her parental units are out of town, party!
Well, that's all folks.

Things You Observe at the Park
1. A girl a boy were playing tag. The boy was "it." The girl was wearing heels and I heard her say and she stumbled by me, "Hey don't run so fast, I HAVE HEELS ON!!"
2. A newlywed couple behind me talking about their honeymoon and how great it was. They can't wait to have kids and come back to the park and play with them. Also, when they got home, the wife dropped the memory card with honeymoon pictures on it on the floor and the dog ate it, whoops.
3. Little girl stuck on the monkey bars yelling, "MOOOOOOOOOM! Help! HURRY!!! HELP!"
4. Boys in the field playing baseball behind me and talking about how they can't wait to be professional in a few years.
5. Mom telling her kids that it was time to go home and the boys saying, "Mom! Five more minutes!" (They were there for at least 20 more minutes.)
6. Kids eating flaming hot cheetos behind me for the first time. They ran to the water fountain SO fast.
7. Griffin paying Hayden 50 cents to play tag with him. Hayden was it 90% of the time.
8. And..apparently if a boy and girl trade sillybands, they "like-like" each other.
