Thought this was Interesting

An Atheist professor of philosophy was speaking to his class on the problem
science has with God, the Almighty. He asked one of his new students to stand and...

Professor: You are a Christian, aren't you, son?
Student: Yes, sir.
Professor: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.
Professor: Is God good?
Student: Sure
Professor: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes
Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't.
How is this God good then?
(no answer)
Professor: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again. Is God good?
Student: Yes.

Professor: Is Satan good?
Student: No.
Professor: Where does Satan come from?
Student: From God.
Professor: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student: Yes.
Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student: Yes.
Professor: So who created evil?
(no answer)
Professor: Is there sickness in the world? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness?
All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student: Yes, sir.
Professor: So, who created them?
(no answer)
Professor: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe
the world around you. Tell me son, have you ever seen God?
Student: No sir.
Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student: No sir.
Professor: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God?
Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student: No sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student: Yes.
Professor: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your
God doesn't exist. What do you say to that son?
Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.
Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student: Professor, is there such thing as heat?
Professor: Yes.
Student: And is there such thing as cold?
Professor: Yes.
Student: No sir, there isn't.
Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat,
superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't
have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which
is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing
as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat.
We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is no the opposite
of heat, sir, just the absence of it.
Student: What about darkness, professor? Is there such thing as darkness?
Professor: Yes, what is night if there isn't darkness?
Student: You're wrong again, sir.
Student: Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light,
normal light, bright light, flashing light... But if you have no light
constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn't it?
In reality, darkness isn't. If it is, wouldn't you be able to make
darkness darker?
Professor: So what is the point you are making young man?
Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Professor: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality.
You argue that there is life and then there is death.
A good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept
of God as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity
and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood
either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant
of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.
death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.
Now tell me, professor, do you teach your students that they
evolved from a monkey?
Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process,
yes, of course I do.
Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes?
Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work
and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor,
are you not teaching your opinion, sir?
Are you not a scientist, but a preacher?
Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain?
Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain?
Felt it? Touched it? Or smelt it? No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable,
demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir.
With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures?
Professor: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student: That is it sir, exactly! The link between man and God is faith.
That is all that keeps things alive an moving.

That student was Albert Einstein.

Confession

Sometimes, when I am on the computer and have nothing to do..

I look at random people's wedding photos.

I envy the bride. I can't wait to get married have the spotlight on me all day. It's about the groom and me, I know, but it is still going to be nice to have a camera follow me around all day and make me look beautiful.

I love looking at the snapshot of the groom when the bride walks in, he looks happy and scared. Scared of what he about to commit to, and happy because he is marrying the love of his life.

I love how happy they look together. I can't wait for that kind of happiness.

Jersday

Thanks to these crazy guidos, my Thursday nights are filled with lots of fun and laughter. Yes, I am one of those people who watch "Jersey Shore". Yes, I am one of those people who watched it because they have no drama in their life and needs to get it from another source. Yes, I am one of those people who enjoys the show. I could probably sum up the show in a few words: gorillas, meatballs, alcohol, sex, GTL.

That's pretty much all you need to know to understand.

Epic Bonding Weekend 2.0

This weekend was probably the best weekend that I have had ever in my entire life. It was somewhat a continuation of when we all went to Isaac's house a few weekends ago and had a huge integrated sleepover. But this weekend was designed specifically for a spiritual purpose and getting to know one another on a deeper level.

We talked about a lot of things, but something that I will remember forever was this. From an outsiders perspective, if you took each one of us individually and looked at our personalities and determined that we are all very different people. We have a lot of different views on things and all act differently. But the coolest part about this is that God brought us all together for a reason and for a purpose. I have never had a group as tight as this All of us are all so different but God knew what He was doing when He brought all of us together. So this is a blog dedicated to...God.

Hey God,
I just want to say how thankful that I am for you putting these wonderful people in my life. I feel so blessed to be a part of something as powerful as this group and I can't thank You enough for blessing me with them. I love that we can all be silly together and then we can hold deep conversations with each other. You are challenging me by putting them in my life because they make me open up and talk about my life. Thanks for challenging all of us to be vulnerable towards each other and just being true friends to one another. So thank You for challenging me in that way and showing me true friends who are legit. I feel so special that You put us all together and I can't wait to see what the rest of our college experience together will bring. I love You.

Amen.

Oh and this is a shoutout to those wonderful people in that picture up there..

I got your back.

Single Awareness Day

Happy Valentine's Day errryone. I was just on Wikipedia reading about Valentine's Day traditions and other stuff on there that is pretty useless and here's what I found:

-A modern day poem:
The rose is red, the violet's blue
The honey's sweet, and so are you
Thou are my love and I am thine
I drew thee to my Valentine
The lot was cast and then I drew
And Fortune said it should be you

-The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately 190 million valentines are sent each year in the US

-The rise of Internet popularity at the turn of the millennium is creating new traditions. Millions of people use, every year, digital means of creating and sending Valentine's Day greeting messages such as e-cards, love coupons or printable greeting cards. An estimated 15 million e-valentines were sent in 2010

-In the UK, just under half the population spend money on their Valentines and around 1.3 billion pounds is spent yearly on cards, flowers, chocolates and other gifts, with an estimated 25 million cards being sent

-In Denmark and Norway, Valentine's Day is known as Valentinsdag

-In Finland Valentine's Day is called Ystävänpäivä which translates into "Friend's day"

-In Guatemala it is known as the "Día del Cariño" (Day of the Affection)

-In Brazil, the Dia dos Namorados (lit. "Day of the Enamored", or "Boyfriends'/Girlfriends' Day") is celebrated on June 12, when couples exchange gifts, chocolates, cards and flower bouquets

...In case you were wondering :)
