Jersday

Thanks to these crazy guidos, my Thursday nights are filled with lots of fun and laughter. Yes, I am one of those people who watch "Jersey Shore". Yes, I am one of those people who watched it because they have no drama in their life and needs to get it from another source. Yes, I am one of those people who enjoys the show. I could probably sum up the show in a few words: gorillas, meatballs, alcohol, sex, GTL.

That's pretty much all you need to know to understand.

Epic Bonding Weekend 2.0

This weekend was probably the best weekend that I have had ever in my entire life. It was somewhat a continuation of when we all went to Isaac's house a few weekends ago and had a huge integrated sleepover. But this weekend was designed specifically for a spiritual purpose and getting to know one another on a deeper level.

We talked about a lot of things, but something that I will remember forever was this. From an outsiders perspective, if you took each one of us individually and looked at our personalities and determined that we are all very different people. We have a lot of different views on things and all act differently. But the coolest part about this is that God brought us all together for a reason and for a purpose. I have never had a group as tight as this All of us are all so different but God knew what He was doing when He brought all of us together. So this is a blog dedicated to...God.

Hey God,
I just want to say how thankful that I am for you putting these wonderful people in my life. I feel so blessed to be a part of something as powerful as this group and I can't thank You enough for blessing me with them. I love that we can all be silly together and then we can hold deep conversations with each other. You are challenging me by putting them in my life because they make me open up and talk about my life. Thanks for challenging all of us to be vulnerable towards each other and just being true friends to one another. So thank You for challenging me in that way and showing me true friends who are legit. I feel so special that You put us all together and I can't wait to see what the rest of our college experience together will bring. I love You.

Amen.

Oh and this is a shoutout to those wonderful people in that picture up there..

I got your back.

Single Awareness Day

Happy Valentine's Day errryone. I was just on Wikipedia reading about Valentine's Day traditions and other stuff on there that is pretty useless and here's what I found:

-A modern day poem:
The rose is red, the violet's blue
The honey's sweet, and so are you
Thou are my love and I am thine
I drew thee to my Valentine
The lot was cast and then I drew
And Fortune said it should be you

-The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately 190 million valentines are sent each year in the US

-The rise of Internet popularity at the turn of the millennium is creating new traditions. Millions of people use, every year, digital means of creating and sending Valentine's Day greeting messages such as e-cards, love coupons or printable greeting cards. An estimated 15 million e-valentines were sent in 2010

-In the UK, just under half the population spend money on their Valentines and around 1.3 billion pounds is spent yearly on cards, flowers, chocolates and other gifts, with an estimated 25 million cards being sent

-In Denmark and Norway, Valentine's Day is known as Valentinsdag

-In Finland Valentine's Day is called Ystävänpäivä which translates into "Friend's day"

-In Guatemala it is known as the "Día del Cariño" (Day of the Affection)

-In Brazil, the Dia dos Namorados (lit. "Day of the Enamored", or "Boyfriends'/Girlfriends' Day") is celebrated on June 12, when couples exchange gifts, chocolates, cards and flower bouquets

...In case you were wondering :)

Icepocalypse 2011

Welcome to Icepocalypse 2011 errryone. Because the lovely Anderson University closed down due to ice storms (who knew?), the Hatheway House was opened to myself and five of my friends.

The girls and I have spent some of our last moments together doing some of the weird tings we did in middle school. We have a checklist of crazy things to do and before the Icepocalypse ends, we have to cross them off!

Things we have done:
-have middle parts
-do prank calls
-play truth or dare
-light farts on fire
-eat an icicle
-eat a million cheeseballs
-have a talent show
-eat breakfast for dinner

Things we need to do: (Updated February 2nd, 2011)
-listen to our farts through a stethoscope (check)
-play catch phrase (check)
-take big cheeseball poops (check)
-have a crazy dance party (kind-of check)

Here. We. Come.
