Children's Museum!

My boys and I went to the Children's Museum today! I am very happy to report that I made it there safe and sound and I didn't get lost! That's a first!

We had a great time there seeing the new exhibit, "Rockstars, Cars, and Guitars!" It was filled with signed guitars from famous people, pop culture outfits, and really sweet cars that celebrities had driven. If you haven't been there, check it out! On a more depressing note, I don't get to go to the Barbie exhibit because my boys didn't want to. I kinda have to follow what they want to do, kids first!

It was such a fun and exciting day that the boys were completely pooped by the time we were in the car. Let's just say I enjoyed a nice and quiet ride home. :)

A Bathing Suit and Dark Clouds

So I had a couple of hours to kill earlier this afternoon once I got off of work. I thought it would be a good idea to tan outside since I was already in my bathing suit because of work. I updated my iPod really quickly, grabbed my phone, Dr. Pepper, and iPod and went outside to the back porch (I am still at Lauren's).

I layed out my towel and set up my phone and drink so they were easily accessible. I listened to a few songs as the sun shone down on me. Then all of a sudden, I felt cold. It was dark. The storm was a brewin'. Grrrrrrr-eat.

Very quickly, the storm was coming in and I had to grab my stuff and go! But, before I could, I felt the first raindrop. Then another, and another. Suddenly, I was soaking wet.

Where did this rain come from? Ugggggggh.

I mean, come on cloud, I am just tryin' to get some sun! Gimmie a break.

Family, Friends, and Sparkler Fun

Welp this past holiday weekend was really fun and exciting! Here is a little glimpse of what happened on each day.

Saturday: Slept in and painted a picture of Robert Pattinson for Alex!

Sunday: Church and taco bell afterward! After lunch, went to Alex's house and had a day in the sun with blow up inflatable things in the backyard, so fun on a hot summer day! Later that night, went downtown for fireworks with some friends. We got home and did some fireworks of our own, good way to end a great 4th of July. Oh but wait, the festivities don't end there.

Monday: I had the day off! Went to the CarmelFest parade with my dad, Lexi, and Courtney. Collected just as much candy as the little kiddos sitting next to me with the help of my sister. Went to lunch at my aunt's house and afterwards walked over to CarmelFest and got dippin' dots and bought a new shirt that supports breast cancer. It's so cute. It says "Fight Like a Girl" with a pair of boxing gloves and the breast cancer ribbon. Love it! We went home after that and then went back over to Carmel to my grandma's house for some home cookin'. Had more family time over there with dinner and dessert then headed home. I then drove over to my friend Lauren's house where I have been staying the past two nights because her parental units are out of town, party!

Things You Observe at the Park

1. A girl a boy were playing tag. The boy was "it." The girl was wearing heels and I heard her say and she stumbled by me, "Hey don't run so fast, I HAVE HEELS ON!!"

2. A newlywed couple behind me talking about their honeymoon and how great it was. They can't wait to have kids and come back to the park and play with them. Also, when they got home, the wife dropped the memory card with honeymoon pictures on it on the floor and the dog ate it, whoops.

3. Little girl stuck on the monkey bars yelling, "MOOOOOOOOOM! Help! HURRY!!! HELP!"

4. Boys in the field playing baseball behind me and talking about how they can't wait to be professional in a few years.

5. Mom telling her kids that it was time to go home and the boys saying, "Mom! Five more minutes!" (They were there for at least 20 more minutes.)

6. Kids eating flaming hot cheetos behind me for the first time. They ran to the water fountain SO fast.

7. Griffin paying Hayden 50 cents to play tag with him. Hayden was it 90% of the time.

8. And..apparently if a boy and girl trade sillybands, they "like-like" each other.

Girls are Great at Multi-Tasking

On May 6th, 2007, I went to the BMV to get a little slice of my own freedom, my driver's license. There were things that I learned in driver's education like how to use a turn signal, to keep both hands on the wheel, and check your rearview mirrors regularly. Things that I wasn't taught to do while driving is how to put makeup using the rearview mirror, change a pair of pants, and paint my nails using the steering wheel as a makeshift table. Hey, I am always running late so sometimes it's easier to do these things in the car!

Those listed above are things I have done while I have been behind the wheel. Other things I have done would include text (not anymore), read a book, eat a bowl of cereal, drive with my left foot (this was just fun), and many other things that are probably considered unsafe.

What kinds of crazy things have YOU done while you were driving?

Someone I talked to recently (no name needed), said she had changed her bra in the car on her way to work!

When You Say "I Do..."

Saturday, June 26th, 2010 was a very big day for Emily and Kyle Campbell! They exchanged their vows and said, "I do."

Everything was green and the bride, Emily, looked absolutely gorgeous! I arrived at the church around 2:15 and took my seat among other guests waiting for the doors to open and for the bride to be revealed.

The famous music played and the doors were opened and Emily stood there with her father and they began to walk down the aisle. She looked amazing, the dress was a sweetheart cut line and kinda ruffled down to the floor.

After the ceremony was the reception, my favorite part of the day! Much more fun-filled. There was lots of dancing, music, food, and of course, cake! My best friend was in the wedding as a bridesmaid and my friend, Audrey, was a bridesmaid as well! I met some fun people there who were in the wedding and we all danced to the great music that was playing! Overall, I had a great time!

Obedience

Tonight at church I learned how to be obedient, and why you should be obedient to your elders, and most importantly, God. There are some times in your life, I'm sure, when you have been given a task and you wondered why you had to do it because it wasn't going to benefit you in any way.

In the bible, Noah (you know, the one with the ark and the animals and stuff) was given a task by God. The task? Build the ark. Because Noah was very obedient to God and always did what He told him to do, Noah agreed to the task at hand. Now, let's think about this for a second. God told Noah that he has to build an ark, an ark that is three soccer fields long, for the rain that is about to come. But, the bible says that it has never rained before this time. So, Noah is told to build this ark (God tells him it will take 120 years to build) for the rain that is coming, and spend 120 years of his life building it, for something that he has never heard of or seen (the rain). Are we following?

What would you say to God if He asked you to do this? Oh, and I forgot to mention that Noah has to gather two of each animal to put on the ark. No big deal or anything.

Seriously, who would want to spend 120 years building an ark that is three soccer fields long for the "rain" that is coming soon? That would be hard to agree to. But Noah did it, he even hung in there when it rained for forty days and forty nights. What a trooper.

Think of a time you have disobeyed your parents commands and think of everything that happened when you didn't obey them. Didn't everything go wrong after you disobeyed? What happens when you do what you are told? Everything seems to go according to plan. Weird how that works out.

We have to obey God's commands and God will bless us.
